Most of FocusLeaf is private: your sessions and your own record. The parts other people see are your display name, the groups you make, the totals you put on a leaderboard, and — to the people you share a group with — your subject names. These are the rules for those.
These guidelines are part of the Terms of Use, which you also agree to when you create an account.
You need to be 13 or over. Setting up an account asks for your year of birth, and an account cannot be created by anyone under 13.
By creating an account you agree to these guidelines. FocusLeaf has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Names that break the rules below are also blocked automatically when they are entered.
Anything you write that another person can see — your display name, your nickname in a group, a group’s name, a group’s description, and the names of your subjects — must not be:
Remember that a public group is visible to every signed-in person, not just its members. Its name, its description and its members’ display names can all be read from Discover by someone who has not joined. If you would rather not be visible that way, use a private group, which is reachable only by invite code and is never listed.
Inside a group you have joined, members can open each other’s profiles and see a calendar of how long each person studied on each day, and can tap a day to see how it was split between subjects. Joining a group means agreeing to that. Because subject names are visible to the people you share a group with, the rules above apply to them as well — keep them free of anything offensive or private. Your individual sessions — the times you started and stopped — stay private either way.
In the app, open the person’s profile from a group, tap the cog at the top, and choose Report this person. To report a group — its name or its description — tap the cog at the top of the group and choose Report group, or use Report group on its page in Discover. Pick the reason that fits and send it. Reports are read by us and are never shown to the person reported. You will not get a reply about an individual report, but every one is looked at within 24 hours.
For anything you cannot reach from inside the app, email loftybreadstudio@gmail.com.
Open the person’s profile from a group, tap the cog at the top, and choose Block. From then on neither of you sees the other on a leaderboard, in Studying now, or on each other’s profiles, and they are not told. You can unblock them from Profile → Settings → Blocked people.
Within 24 hours of a report, where something breaks these rules we remove the name, description or group, or the account behind it. A group’s owner can also remove members from their own group at any time. Serious cases — anything involving a threat, or a child — are removed on sight and reported to the authorities where the law requires it.
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete account, or from the account deletion page. It removes your study history, your groups and any reports you sent.
If these guidelines change, the date at the top will change with them.
